Just a brief note to keep you informed of our External Competitions.
Last weekend, the 20th of April 2008 to be precise, was Finals Day at Crossfield Hall in Romsey. Unfortunately we never managed to battle it out for the best league panel in the Competition. What we had was, our Best Individual Print and Slide. The Judge and Speaker for the day was John Chamberlain FRPS MFIAP (++++); Though a little under the weather laid low with a heavy cold, he gave a superb talk on a variety of subjects World wide. With some stunning images throughout.
Back to the Judging: Our Best Print after the rounds was; Street Tango By Shelia Birch LRPS. Some deliberation followed; eventually this received a Highly Commended. Very well done Shelia and H&I. I felt it was strong enough to win, perhaps I was biased because it was a H&I entry, who knows.
Our Best Slide had been the shot of the Grizzly Bear family in early morning light. Eventually it was whittled down to three remaining slides and the Grizzly family were still in there. We then won Best Individual Slide, for the second year in succession. Well done Highcliffe & Infinity!
